ProjectsSeveral multimedia projects have been developed for us as members of the Body of Christ to celebrate our Texas Lutheran heritage, history and ministry. WEB SITE - www.texasdistrict100.orgThis web site has been launched to assist church's and their members in keeping up-to-date with the activities, plans and events of the Centennial Task Force. It is also a primary means through which to learn more about the past history of the LCMS in Texas, it's ongoing ministries and programs, the people who have been such a significant part of it and a look into the future of Lutheran ministry in Texas. Beginning December 1st site visitors can expect to see and read features about the history of the Heckmann family in the Texas District, the role Hispanics and Blacks played in the early development of the Texas District, online photo albums of stills and memorabilia gleaned from the District archives, congregational histories presented through words and images, and excerpts of interviews from people around the Texas District -- just like you -- who have unique stories of faith to tell about being touched by Lutheran ministry. VIDEO / DVD - Historical DocumentaryThe production of a special historical documentary to celebrate our ministry of Jesus Christ in Texas is being produced and will be made for sale to church's and individuals. Currently in production and shooting throughout the Texas District, this documentary will focus on the past, present and future of the LCMS in Texas, including conversations with notable District figures and fellow Lutherans 'in-the-pew' as they reflect on what being a Lutheran Christian really means. These are two of the primary multimedia projects being developed for the Centennial year. |
